It was a real joy to welcome all our new members at the June meeting, and our scholarship recipients for 2025. Congratulations to Kayla Lyles and Megan Canevari, both candidates are in the medical field. Our members relished in the fact that our hard work at the Wine Tasting has a direct effect on these women's lives.

We have (2) wonderful speakers, Linda Bone and Linda Henry, from Restoring Oaks, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, that is fighting human traffic through a three pronged approach which is education, advocacy and survivor care. Please make your reservation and your menu choice prior tby Saturday, July 12th on the bpwev website.

At the June Board Meeting we discussed ways to raise more funds for scholarships and operating funds. The Board is working on dates for a women's educational seminar as well as the wine tasting event. Any speakers that you feel would be an interesting topic for our members, please contact Cyndy Fredricks or myself.

BPW Englewood/Venice

BPW is not like any other organization.

The mission of BPW shall be to achieve equity for all working women through advocacy, education and connections.

This organization was founded in 1919 and is unique in that it has a long history of advocating for women and is still passionately and effectively engaged in assuring equal rights, equal pay and equal opportunities in the workforce. Every working woman has benefited from the efforts of this organization in Education Foundation, Scholarships, Public Policy, Equal Pay and Lobbying for Women's Rights.

What We Do

Professional Development

Attend workshops and programs designed to enhance professional skills and leadership abilities such as Individual Development, Women in Transition, Young Careerist and the BPWEV/FL Leadership Institute.

Personal Development

Supporting each other is how we accomplish everything we do. Growing, expanding and trying new things is always better when you do it with others.

Scholarships

Assist women through scholarships to further formal education at the local level and through BPWEV/FL's Education Foundation.

Community charity resized

Special events are held throughout the year to raise funds for local charitable events and other causes relevant to working women.
