Dorothy graduated from Venice High-a few years ago!  After receiving her undergraduate degree from University of Florida in environmental engineering, she worked as an engineer and received her Professional Engineer registration, and her law degree from University of Miami in 1988. She practiced environmental law in Miami, then Milwaukee, then moved back to Englewood 17 years ago.

Dorothy and Bogie have been married for 29 years, and have four adult children: Perry is a Marine Corps officer, Stephanie graduated from college and works as a biomedical engineer in Carlsbad, CA, Emily is in her 3rd year at University of Florida, and Valerie is a senior at Pine View.

They moved back to Florida to buy her family's water treatment equipment business, which they sold in 1999.  Afterward, Dorothy worked as an attorney for the Guardian ad Litem program representing abused and neglected children in court.  She joined the Farr Law firm 8 years ago and is now a partner and a member of the Executive Committee.  She practices estate planning, real estate, corporate law and probate and trust administration.

For fun Dorothy loves to read, run, and travel.  She and Bogie have run together for over 30 years and travel to cool places to run marathons. Dorothy served as Vice President of the South County Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association, on the Board of Directors for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, the Finance Committee at Englewood United Methodist Church, and is active in the Englewood-Venice Business and Professional Women's Organization, the Englewood on the Gulf Women's Council of Realtors, and several other legal and community organizations.  She has made many friends through BPW and the monthly meetings feel like a visit with family.
