Spotlight - Chris Davis

Chris' was born in Louisville, NY but considers Massena, NY her hometown since she lived there most of her life. She and her husband, Bob, came to Florida about 15 years ago to live near her sister, Loretta. They were snowbirds until six years ago when they bought their Englewood home. Ten months later, Bob passed away after 55 years of marriage.  They had five children, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Chris' oldest daughter, Teri, lives in El Paso, TX and teaches at the University of Texas at El Paso. Patty is a nurse practitioner in Syracuse, NY and works for the Watertown School District. Susie, who many of you know, is a retired rehabilitation specialist and has a landscaping business. Rob lives in Clinton Corners, NY and is a coordinator, supervisor of the large former James Cagney Estate. Diane is a nurse at Fletcher Allen Teaching Hospital in S. Burlington, VT and is working toward a Masters in Nursing Computer Technology. Chris's constant companion is her Cocker Spaniel Terrier, Olga.

Chris worked in municipal government 29 years retiring from the City of Norwich, NY as Comptroller. She currently works part time renting apartments on Manasota Key.

She joined BPW in 1965. She joined because she was attracted by the mission statement of women helping women, elevating the standard of women, and promoting equality.
