Jim and his wife Morina (current First Vice President of BPWEV), moved from Westfield, N.J. to Venice in May 2007. They have been married for almost 20 years. He worked as a history teacher and retired after more than 35 years. The most challenging part of being an educator was motivating his students to excel and to understand the value of a sound education.

Jim has two adults sons:  Jim Jr., 36 years old, is married with two boys and lives in N.J. and Chris, 33 years old, works and lives in La Quinta, California.

In his free time, Jim enjoys golf, fishing, and going to the beach. He joined BPW on August 17th of this year. As an educator, he always implored his students, especially the female students, to be financially independent, socially competent and emotionally aware. He wanted to join BPWEV because we foster these sentiments and actively supports scholarships for women to advance their education. He is hopeful that more men will join this worthy organization.

Jim is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Moose, Big Brothers & Sisters and is a member of the Board of Directors and treasurer in the Venetia community where they live. Last year he chaired a charity fund raiser benefiting the South County Food Pantry. This year he will assist in a fund raiser for the Venice H.S. ROTC.

Throughout the years, BPW has been open to anyone who supports our mission: "To achieve equity for all women through advocacy, education and information." We welcome members who are employed or not, as well as people of both genders.
