Sue Lang and her husband Steve Trombeta became full time residents of Venice in 2003 after vacationing in this area for years. They both enjoy tennis, golf, biking, hiking, the arts, and, of course, the beach. They have no children but their baby is a 3 year old Border Terrier named Bentley who was adopted a few months ago from Rescued Hearts.
For the past 2-1/2 years Sue has served as a Venice City Council Member including serving as Vice Mayor in 2009. She currently serves as Council Liaison to the Planning Commission, Venice Housing Authority, the Sarasota Community Action Agency Board and Sarasota Consortium for CDBG Housing Programs.
In addition to BPWEV, Sue is a member of American Association of University Women, Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations, Control Growth Now, the Nature Conservancy, Rails to Trails, and Manatee Sarasota Bicycle Club. She is very active in her community and a subscriber and contributor to many charitable arts and environmental organizations.
Sue first learned of BPW when she filled in for the Mayor and presented a Proclamation to the organization. She felt very welcomed and was impressed with the mission and goals of the organization and the spirit of the group.
Sue has a Master of Science Degree, Community Economic Development Major, New Hampshire College Graduate School of Business; Bachelor of Science, New Hampshire College, Human Services Administration; and a certificate from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Fifth Annual Harvard Institute of Affordable Housing.
