Spotlight: Barbara Connelly

barbara-connellyBarbara was born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio, named by the Shawnee Indians which means "Principal Town". Chillicothe was Ohio's first capital city.

She is married to Kevin and they have two wonderful children. Kristen is a meteorologist and is currently employed with ABC/Fox News.  Her son Keith is attending medical school at the University of Central Florida. 

In 2003 the family moved to Venice to be closer to Barbara's mother, they ended up being next door neighbors.

Barbara has worked in the banking industry for over eighteen years.  She is currently employed with BB&T Bank in Englewood.  One of her many responsibilities is helping clients with their financial needs.

A member of BPW Michigan and Florida for seventeen years, Barbara has held many positions within the organization, always willing to work hard to get the job done.

Barbara and Kevin enjoy sunset walks on the beach with their golden retriever "Buddy" and lab retriever "Clancy".  She is also active in the Epiphany Cathedral's choir and plays the handbells, something she loves to do to relief stress.

Barbara is a welcome addition to BPWEV, always willing to volunteer her time for good of the organization. 














Ann Roggero

Ann is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, a city known for stockyards,

farming, food conglomerates and insurance giant Mutual of Omaha.

She has two children, Daniel a student at State College of Florida and Melissa

a senior at Pineview High School. Both of her children are her pride and joy,

and she is busy guiding Melissa on college choices for next year.

Ann is currently the Development Director of the State College of

Florida Foundation in Venice. One of her many responsibilities is to raise funds

for the foundation to support the college, a challenge she is prepared to meet, even

in our current financial environment. Ann was the CEO of the Venice campus

before accepting her current position. Previously she was employed as Director of

Human Resources and Vice President of HR in Kansas City, MO.

Ann loves to travel. She also enjoys kayaking, cooking and spending time with

family and friends. A member of BPWEV for over a year, Ann joined because of

the organizations’ commitment to women’s issues. Ann did her thesis in college on the Equal Right Amendment and eagerly waits for the day it is ratified!

Ann mentors a young girl through the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

She is currently active on the Board of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce,

Rotary Futures Program at Venice High School, Venice Regional Medical

Center and South County Tiger Bay.

It’s members like Ann, who give their time, energy and commitment that will

help our organization grow.
