This organization was founded in 1919 and is unique in that it has a long history of advocating for women and is still passionately and effectively engaged in assuring equal rights, equal pay and equal opportunities in the workforce. Every working woman has benefited from the efforts of this organization in Education Foundation, Scholarships, Public Policy, Equal Pay and Lobbying for Women's Rights.

We invite you to attend one of our meetings, learn more and join us!

Mary Giddens

mary-giddensMary Giddens is the guest speaker at our January, 2012 meeting.  She will be discussing the topic of "Parliamentary Procedure."

Mary is a member of BPW, and she has been active in BPW/FL for many years.  She is a past state president and has served as state parliamentarian several times.

Mary is a former social services administrator and cattle rancher.  She is a member of the Florida Cattleman's Association.  Mary is owner and operator of Diamond G Ranch and lives in LaBelle, FL.

Mary's interest in parliamentary procedure started as "on the job" experience when she was asked to be state parliamentarian for BPW.  Her quest for training and guidance in parliamentary procedure led her to membership in the Charlotte County Parliamentarians Unit, which is a teaching unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians.

Mary has been recognized many times over the years for her work and her community service. She has testified before a presidential commission as an advocate for working women, and she has been listed in Who's Who of American Women.
